Native to Europe, this unique spiny shrub contains many biologically active compounds including the important anthocyanidins and proaathocyanidins that are responsible for its cardiovascular benefits. Natural Factors Hawthorn Phytosome capsules contain one part extract standardized to 1.8% Vitexin bound to two parts phosphatidylcholine (from lecithin) to significantly enhance bioavailability. Hawthorn is valued for its use as a heart tonic, a mild diuretic and a gentle astringent.
